As a plumbing and heating engineer in my 40s, I rely on good eyesight both for working and reading. Over the past year, I’d been struggling to see properly, particularly in the afternoons and evenings, and kept putting it down to tiredness. I’d visited another optician nearly a year earlier and been given eye drops, but I was still struggling.

I booked a dry eye assessment at Hayden Swan Eyecare, thinking that was the problem. The team were thorough, kind and thoughtful, and looked beyond just the dry eyes. They carried out a full eye test, which showed that my eyesight needed more help than I’d realised.

There was no pressure. I was given glasses to try, and the difference in my vision and the relief from my headaches were enough for me to return for a proper fitting. I chose glasses for home and was also offered a free trial of contact lenses.

For me, glasses aren’t always practical when working in tight spaces, airing cupboards and lofts, so being able to try contact lenses was particularly helpful. They’ve made a huge difference to my working day, while I have my glasses for when I’m at home.

I’ve deliberately waited over a month before leaving this review so I could give an honest account of how I’ve got on. The improvement has been significant, especially after spending so long assuming I was just tired.

Thank you to Claire, Ruth and Eugene for their care, patience and attention. The whole experience was relaxed and welcoming, almost like a spa for your eyes, and the excellent coffee deserves a mention too. I’d happily recommend Hayden Swan Eyecare, particularly to anyone who has been putting up with their eyesight rather than getting it properly checked.

I couldn't have felt better looked after than by Claire, Eugene and Zofia. Eugene was so patient with me in showing me how to put in and take out my contacts. To be honest, I probably wouldn't have even considered contacts had the team not been so supportive and encouraging, and there was such a calm, friendly atmosphere that I didn't feel at all rushed when practising taking them in and out the first time. Claire and the team have the magic touch of making you feel like an actual human being with thoughts and feelings rather than just another body in a queue. I'm loving running in my contact lenses; no more foggy glasses and constantly pushing them back up my nose. What a lovely (small dog friendly!) local business; doing Bolnore Village proud. What an incredible team at Haydens! They're friendly,. knowledgeable and genuinely helpful when it comes to eye tests, eye care and finding the right specs. I had such a lovely experience at HAYDENSWAN. From the moment I arrived, everyone was so friendly, approachable and welcoming. The practice itself is beautifully designed and very modern.

I had my eye test with Eugene, who was incredibly competent, clear and reassuring. Claire and Zofia were so helpful when it came to choosing my frames, showing me lots of options and helping me find the perfect pair. My prescription was also made up quickly, and when I collected my glasses, Claire adjusted them perfectly for me.

With working at a desk all day, the team added anti-fatigue lenses which has made reading and using the computer more comfortable, for the first time I’m able to wear my glasses all day!

Getting your eyes tested and finding the right pair of glasses is never the easiest task, but from the moment I walked into Hayden Swan Eyecare, the experience felt completely different from your typical high street opticians.

Zofia gave me such a warm and friendly welcome, immediately putting me at ease. Eugene carried out my eye test with professionalism, explaining everything clearly and making the whole process both informative and enjoyable. Claire was incredibly patient, supportive and caring, taking the time to help me find the perfect pair of glasses. Her honest advice and encouragement, together with Zofia’s input, made what can often feel like an overwhelming decision so much easier.

I ended up choosing a fantastic pair of Oakley frames, and I can genuinely say I can see life in HD again! I can’t thank Claire, Zofia and Eugene enough for making the whole experience so personal and enjoyable.

Visited HAYDENSWAN Eyecare recently. I hadn't had an eye test for 15 years. As I had laser eye surgery years ago, so my sight was in need of a refresh. Fantastic selection of glasses on offer, and free parking, which is also a big bonus.

I got the meta Oakley Sunglasses.

Picked them up today and started using them at home, they're great fun. I can play Spotify straight through them, and I've got some Ray-Ban Glasses too. :) Eugene is such a lovely chap who did the eye tests, very professional. I visited to collect my new pair of Feb31st glasses after having attended the Feb31st event at Haydenswan a few months ago.
I was not disappointed, the frames are incredible, all handmade from sustainable wood in Italy. The lenses are also fantastic and unlike my other pairs of glasses (which I can’t wait to take off!), I absolutely love wearing these and don’t want to take them off!
It was a great experience from start to finish and attention to detail was second to none. Thank you so much to Claire and Zofia for making this such a great experience from start to finish!
